ESTAC Troyes's sporting director Antoine Sibierski has left the club to join Anderlecht, the Belgian club has confirmed. It has been a successful season for Troyes on the pitch, with the club securing their promotion back to Ligue 1 for next season. Their recruitment has been one of the major drivers of their rise from being initially relegated to the third tier two seasons ago, to now returning back to the top-flight. Naturally, Sibierski has played his part, however, as reported by L'Équipe, there have been underlying tensions with president Edwin Pindi. Sibierski, therefore, will not remain with the City Group-owned club as they return to Ligue 1. Instead, he has joined Belgian giants Anderlecht, as confirmed on Monday. L'ESTAC are now on the search for a new sporting director and a few candidates have been identified, including Bafétimbi Gomis, who once played for the club. Other candidates such as Jocely Blanchard and Julien Fournier are also in the running. The move is seen as a significant loss for ESTAC Troyes, who will need to find a replacement for Sibierski quickly to ensure a smooth transition. The club's president, Edwin Pindi, will need to work closely with the new sporting director to ensure that the team's recruitment strategy remains on track. With the new season just around the corner, ESTAC Troyes will be looking to build on their success and establish themselves as a top-flight team.
